Kruger, Botswana, the gorillas in Uganda. Luxury lodges or a mobile camp, early starts either way.
Africa when the light is right.
Austria when the powder falls.

GUIDING AND HOSTING
I am Gordy. Most of last winter on the snow, above St. Johann, Kitzbühel, Saalbach and Zell am See. Then south, the way I have gone for thirty years: safari, fishing off the Mozambique coast, diving, rugby, and the run I love most, Cape Town down the Garden Route to Knysna. Whichever one you pick, you deal with me the whole way.
When you call, it is me picking up, in Tirol or in Africa.

More about meMozambique, October 2026
Last October we came off that water: two boats, two of the best local skippers in the region, fresh fish and sashimi with every meal. The marlin and the sailfish hit our baits all week and never stuck. In October 2026 I am going back out to Mozambique’s waters, with all the Gordy inclusions. If you want to be in on the trip, tell me now and I will keep you posted as we finalize it.

WHERE TO NEXT
Snow in Tirol, safari and blue water in Africa, and that one big game you would not miss. Open the one you want and tell me roughly when, the dates can wait.

Cold air and empty pistes before nine, then a long lunch on the mountain.

Table Mountain in the morning, the winelands in the afternoon.

Dry season, thin bush, animals at the water. The best month I know.

Blue water, big bill fish, and nothing on the calendar after two.

Two homes, one guide. Winter in Tirol from December, then the dry season in the Lowveld from May. I plan both ends and I am on the ground for most of it.

Say when, and I will put the days together.
A day with Gordy
Trips differ. The shape of a day with me does not. This is a day in Africa, and I run an Austrian one the same way.
First light
I am up before you are.
We start early, because the cool hours are the ones worth being awake for. The flasks come off the tailgate, nobody hurries, and then we go and see what the morning has.

The slow hours
The middle of a day is yours.
Eat, sleep, read, swim, or ask me for something and I will go and arrange it. I do not plan this part, and every trip I run has it: a long slow deck on the boat, a long lunch on the mountain. I am there when you want me and out of the way when you do not.

Last light
You come back to this.
Two lanterns on the frame, ice in the bucket, the first drinks already poured. This is the hour the rest of the day is built around, and I have it standing before you get back.

Want to know what a whole day looks like? Then we should talk.
AFTER THE TRIP

“The Garden Route was stunning with epic coastal hikes, incredible ocean views, and plenty of local wine, gin, and seafood along the way. Every part of the trip felt thoughtfully put together, from the wildlife to the food to the winding coastal roads. We’ll be back for more with Gordy!”
David & Sam Schupp
The Garden Route, Western Cape, 2026

“Gordy goes the extra mile to create that extra experience at every step. We had unforgettable game drives in the Delta with the best safari guides, and hopped between Machaba Safaris’ magnificent camps by helicopter.”

Straight answers

Asking commits you to nothing.
Tell me what you have in mind. Nothing is fixed, and no money changes hands, until you say so.

Ask once, and that is all.
Four steps, about two minutes, and I will not add you to any mailing list.

What I do not do myself.
I stay honest about which trips I guide in person and which I hand to a friend who knows the ground better than I do.
Every enquiry comes to me directly, and I answer it myself.
What comes back is not a brochure. It is a first shape for the trip, in my own words, and then we talk it through. If I am out on a drive with no signal, it can take me a few days, and it still comes from me.
